Graduation Parties and Beyond with Shutterfly

Happy Monday!  I hope you all had a fabulous weekend and are looking forward to a wonderful spring week! :)  I’m so excited to share this new project that has kept me hopping for the last several weeks doing all of my favorite things…designing, planning and partying! :)  I was over the moon excited when one of my all-time favorite companies contacted me to team up.  You all know how I feel about pictures…well Shutterfly is where I have always turned to take my images and turn them into amazing photo books.  My kids LOVE them!  I keep a stack of about 40 of them (yes, I might be slightly addicted!) in the family room and the kids spend hours re-living their younger years, family vacations and holiday gatherings.  When Shutterfly contacted me and gave me the opportunity to work with more of their amazing products I jumped at the chance!  The mission: take one of their gorgeous graduation announcements and create a party based on it.  WooHoo!  The hard part was picking which announcement I wanted to play with!  There are so many fun styles.  This Sparkling Senior 5×7 Announcement was calling my name.  I had to add the fun black and white stripe to the back…it just tied in too perfectly with the fun black and white stripe in some of my other designs. :)

Fortunately, Shawna of Blue Dog Fotography had these gorgeous photos of a beautiful senior that she graciously let me use to create this announcement.  Isn’t Darcy beautiful?

The black and white with the glittery gold was calling my name.  I love that it is totally versatile and can be added to any school color to create an amazing combo for your Graduation parties.  I went with the color of my Alma Mater and added green to my party décor.  LOVED it!   When I think of graduation, I think of young people heading out into the world to chase their dreams…I also know now as an adult, how important it is to not just follow your dreams, but do something in your life that you love.  And thus, the theme for our party as born! :)

How amazing is this metal print?  New to the Shutterfly family, these are SUPER cool!  They display the images on a smooth, flawless surface and you can choose matte or glossy.  I went with my favorite finish…matte.

My favorite product of everything I created were the gorgeous acrylic blocks.  They look good on the computer, but man, nothing can do them justice until you are holding one in your hand.  They are BEAUTIFUL!  I took a few of my favorite pictures from Shawna and turned them into 5×7 blocks.  I mixed the pictures in with a couple of prints that I created for the class of 2014 and I think they look pretty amazing. 😉  LOVE how that green pops!  These make amazing décor for your party, great gifts for mom and dad, and super cute décor for your home or office.  Print them up for the party, give a few as parting gifts and let the kids take them to their dorm rooms!

No party is complete without a fun drink station, so I wanted to create fun Shutterfly coasters that went with the theme.  I like the idea of mixing in some personal photos along with the party décor to give it a more custom look.  I have all of these images available for you to download for free so you can create your own versions of all of these products, simply add in a couple of your own photos to make it more your own. :)

I designed some Party plates and fun pillows that match the theme are great not only for party décor, but they also translate to super cute regular home or dorm décor.

One of my favorite things to do when designing any space…home, office, party etc. is to really inject the personality of the people that live there or the guest of honor into the event or room.  Teenagers are all about social media and sharing pictures through instagram, so I wanted to work that into the décor.  Shutterfly has an AMAZING mobile app that lets you instantly order any prints including 4×4 instagram prints directly from your phone!  SO AWESOME!  It was the first time I had used the app and it was SO easy!  In a matter of minutes I had instagram prints ordered and on their way to my home. :) I created a simple table runner using those prints so that guests can get a feel for a day in the life of the guest of honor. It’s a fun conversation piece while sitting around the table too! :)

If you know me, then you know I am a stickler for details. I think that’s why I had extra fun working with all these great Shutterfly products. There were so many great products for me to customize and design, that no detail went left undone! What’s a celebration without come confetti, right? I made little confetti filled bags using glassine bags, washi tape, glitter coated clothespins, and these super cool “celebrate” stickers that I made to match the line.

Finally, I love to send my guests home with something memorable from each party that I throw. I found these cute little paper mache suitcases that I thought were just too perfect for graduates about to head off on an adventure. To personalize each suitcase for my guests, I made Shutterfly luggage tags with their picture and a few to match the party decor as well.

      Hi Christina!
Those are actually transfers. Aren’t they cute? They stick to the wall, but not like wallpaper. You can reposition them and remove them when you want without damaging the walls. :)

I love all of this, you are so talented! I am wondering if you sell the print of the Follow your Dreams or if you have the download? I would love to print one for my nieces graduation.

    Thank you so much!
