Happy Cyber Monday! Are you all shopped out yet? I’m guessing not, because today is supposed to be the busiest shopping day of the year! 🙂 I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving spent with friends and family and that there was a lot of relaxing and over-eating involved. 😉 I’m glad that we have lots of great deals to look forward to today because this Monday always feels a little harder than most. After such a fun filled week of game nights, great meals and endless laughs with the ones nearest and dearest to me, it’s always a little harder when they pack up the car for long trips home, or head out back to school and work and the house feels empty and lonely again. I’m lucky that Andy doesn’t have to go back to school until tomorrow, so I have my little (or not so little anymore) buddy to hang around with me today and help me ease back in to real life. 😉 An update on the house is long overdue too, so I wanted to share some pictures of the exterior because…dare I say it…it’s now DONE! Woohoo!!
Almost all of the sales I mentioned here in Friday’s post are still going strong. They end at midnight tonight though, so if you’ve been thinking about something, now is the time to add it to your cart and check out! 😉
A few that are awesome to add to that list:
Kate Spade is offering 30% off all regular priced items and an additional 40% off of sale merchandise. Everybody loves one of Kate Spade’e colorful boxes and pretty ribbon under the tree! Here are a few of my sale favorites…so they are an extra 40% off!
Pottery Barn is offering up to 70% off on hundreds of items. This is the ABSOLUTE BEST PRICE I have seen on this chandelier after watching it for over a year. If you have been thinking about it like I have, NOW is the time to get it! Here are a few other of my sale favorites:
West Elm is also have a similar up to 70% off sale and free shipping.
If you are buying for someone who loves to cook or bake this Christmas, Williams-Sonoma is running their buy more save more AND a 70% sale at the same time! I just love this store! They have tons of pre-packaged fun neighbor gifts too like their delicious peppermint bark.
Of course I can’t leave out Amazon and their killer Cyber Deals week. So much good stuff for everyone on your list! be sure to check out what they are offering so you can set your timers for the things you really want.
If I find more deals I just can’t live without, I’ll update this post throughout the day! 🙂 Ok, now on to the house. I was So excited to at least have the exterior completed before we had family over for Thanksgiving. We were really waiting on the front door to complete it all. The black gutters went up and so did the shutters and BOY! Do I LOVE those pops of black. Combined with the door and the lighting I think everything came together just as I had envisioned it when I very first drew up this house. Here’s a look at the progress:
I feel like when the gutters went up it was when I got my first real glimpse of how things were going to look once they were finished. That pop of color really defined the exterior…and I do love black…it just always looks good!
Once the gutters went up, the shutters followed shortly after. Just a few on a couple windows in the front to make them stand out a bit and add some more dimension to the house. And then it was a waiting game for the front door. It finally came two weeks ago and when the carpenters installed it, it just changed the look of the entire house. It was like the cherry on top…
I had always planned on painting it black since the day I designed it…but then it came and it was the most beautiful clear alder, I thought about leaving it and just doing a matte clear coat because it really was a gorgeous door!
Ultimately I was worried about the weather and what it might do to the raw wood, so black it went…Sherwin Williams Tricorn black to be exact. 🙂
I just love it! And once we added the gorgeous hardware…bam! It’s totally like a good piece of jewelry!
So, there it is…the completed exterior! It was a LONG time coming, but believe it or not, now that this whole process is coming to an end, I don’t really think about the craziness too much anymore. We made it through an insane 7 months, and now we have a beautiful home. Would I do it again? That remains to be seen. 😉 I do still have painters and tile guys here after all. 😉 Ask me again in a few months. 😉
Well, happy Cyber Monday shopping guys! I need to go deck the halls! 😉
